Artist Alley Portfolio

Hi! Welcome to the portfolio page! This is to show conventions and events the kind of content my wife and I will be bringing to a show! Both of us are writers and cosplayers who are working to promote a message of inclusivity through our words. Our table set up generally looks like this:

  • Naka-Kon 2019
  • Anime Central 2019
  • Gen Con 2019

Our studio name is Sewn Together Reflections and our table primarily focuses on our original works. This includes our self-published books, art we’ve done, art we’ve had commissioned, stickers, buttons, and other merchandise to reflect our characters and our series.

Book Series

magnifiqueNOIR

  • Genre: Magical Girl, Illustrated Novel, Young Adult, LGBTQ+

“magnifiqueNOIR” is my take on the magical girl genre and begins when a local Crunchyroll addict, Bree Danvers, is followed home by a certified yuckboy who responds to her disinterest by turning into the kind of monster you try and kill in your average zombie shooter. Just when things are starting to look bleak, she’s rescued by a plus-size cutie in purple who wields cupcakes like weapons. Because they are weapons. Yeah, they explode. What the what is this literal black girl magic?!

  • What the inside of the book looks like. Art by Jenn St-Onge

This illustrated coming-of-age series features a team of black, queer, magical girls who represent different parts of the queer spectrum. Each illustration is done by a different artist (myself included) and brings pivotal moments of the story to life. Book one was released back in 2017 and book two will be out Fall 2019. There are four books planned in the series.

Hunters

  • Genre: Urban Fantasy, Young Adult, LGBTQ+

The Hunters series is a joint effort between myself and my partner, Jessica Walsh. In it, Alix Andre DeBenit and Randall Fagan are part of a hidden network of humans who track and kill the monsters lurking in our world. These individuals are known as Hunters. When Alix and Fagan bring a living shadow into custody, the creature bargains for its life with information of a being known as the Storyteller.

Alix hesitantly decides to learn more.

They say the Storyteller lives in a massive library full of books that tell every being’s life story. He can read these books, rewrite them, and change anything he wants… even if it’s already happened. Ever since the death of his family, Alix could only dream of the possibility of seeing them again. Now? The Storyteller can grant that wish, Alix just has to decide if working with the very creatures he’s supposed to kill is worth it.

There are currently two books available in the series with seven planned.

Prints

Our prints are a mix of original art from myself, my partner, and artists who we’ve commissioned to illustrate our characters (though you may see some fandom crossovers every now and then). We have permission from these artists to sell the artwork (and contracts from each artist can be provided stating as such). All of the characters depicted are of our own creation.
